Malarone Paediatric tablets are used for the treatment and prevention of uncomplicated malaria in children when visiting high risk malaria countries. It cannot be used to treat severe or complicated malaria. Malarone paediatric tablets contain a fixed dose combination of atovaquone and proguanil hydrochloride, which acts as a blood schizontocide and also has activity against hepatic schizonts of Plasmodium falciparum.
